Those who have built significant social networks in the game and have access to tangible assets like digital art, virtual gold, and other gaming tokens have greater perceived power in the game than those who do not. So why does the world of online games have such a strong influence over our culture? Aside from the entertainment value, many have noted that online gaming addiction has a strong societal effect. One of the biggest concerns about video game addiction has been violence, especially among young children. There have also been reports of significant changes in the way that relationships between people develop and the amount of intimacy they experience with their partners have declined over the years.
